ADDITIONAL LODGING now available just 6 miles from Our Lady of Hope!

Thanks to precious Donna Miller, there is now a gorgeous lodging alternative for August 14th (and possibly the 15th, too, if you want to have a little vacay), and it’s quite close to Our Lady of Hope. And they are giving us a GREAT deal!

The White Magnolia is a charming farm in Kentwood with 10 adorable cottages. They usually rent for $240/night, but our special rate is $160/night. Each cottage sleeps up to 4 guests (8 cabins with 2 queens, 2 cabins with 2 twins and 1 queen).

Magnolia Manor, a Greek Revival historic home, is owned by the same people, and it is in Osyka—so close! It has three options: 1) one full-size apartment with a queen bed and sleeper sofa in the living room ($160); 2) an upstairs loft with a full (or queen?) bed ($130); and 3) a master suite with a full (or queen?) bed ($140). They each have their own bath and separate entrance.

To book any of these rooms at our special rate or to ask any questions, please call Callie:

1st Friday Friend--Tammie Cappo

When Tammie Cappo was involved in a deadly car pile-up on I-55 on October 23, 2023, she never imagined that she would have an amazing miracle story to share. Tune in for this incredible testimony of the power of prayer, angelic protection, and the most holy rosary!

From this morning’s Rosary, the last meditation on The Crucifixion

They laughed.
They pointed.
They shouted, "If You're the Son of God, come down!"
The soldiers waited for a reaction.
Heaven waited for a command.
But the sky stayed silent...

And that's what haunts me.
Because in Matthew 26:53, Jesus had already said it.
"My Father could send more than twelve legions of angels."
Twelve legions.
Seventy-two thousand angels.
Each one capable of ending worlds.

Do you understand what that means?

At that moment on the cross, Heaven wasn't empty.
It was trembling.
Thousands of angels, swords drawn, wings folded, eyes burning like lightning, waiting.
One word and creation itself would've split apart.
One breath and Rome would've turned to ash.

But the word never came...

Because the Son who commanded legions chose silence.

The angels stood ready for war.
And their Commander stayed still.
Not because He couldn't win, but because He wouldn't lose
you.

That's power restrained.
That's divinity disguised as defeat.
That's Heaven holding its breath while mercy bled for the ...

7 Lessons from Whitewater Rafting

7 Life Lessons from Whitewater Rafting
(or How to Remain at Peace When You’re Afraid)

by Kitty Cleveland

Years ago I joined some friends in a thrilling whitewater rafting excursion down the frigid Snake River in Jackson Hole, WY. I had rafted down the Nantahala River in North Carolina many times in the past (once getting trapped under the raft), and I’d even rafted this river before in a large raft. But this time was different.

This time I ended up being assigned the front of a little two-person duckie with a wisp of a woman steering in back. Seriously, I easily had about six inches and 60 pounds on her. I hollered out to our fearless leader on the big, safe raft next to us, "Shouldn't I be in the back of this thing?" She assured me that my strength would be needed to power through the danger up ahead. That's when I started praying. Lesson 1: ALWAYS ACKNOWLEDGE GOD FIRST.
