Why go to Eucharistic Adoration? The demons tell us.

The late and well-known exorcist of the diocese of Rome, Fr. Gabriele Amorth, managed to extract some shocking phrases related to Eucharistic adoration in his countless exorcisms. These words, torn from the demons, show the extraordinary power of being in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

Below I quote some of these phrases:
• “Here He is, hidden in this white bread! But it is not hidden from us; we see it, and its light burns us. It is like a fire that we cannot extinguish!”
• “This piece of bread is not just bread. It is He, the same one who threw us out of heaven! “We hate it, but we cannot approach it!”
• “If people knew who is really there, the whole world would kneel and we would be defeated forever!”
• “Every minute spent before Him takes away our strength. It forces us to flee like cowards!”
• “This place where they worship him is full of angels. We can’t get there even with our traps!
• “When you worship him, he strengthens your souls and destroys everything we have done in your lives.”
• “The hour before he takes the souls we have held captive for years. It is like a great war against us that we always lose!”
• “The Holy Hour fills your homes and families with light. “We cannot bear this light, it blinds us!”
• “When you make the Holy Hour for sinners, they receive his mercy and our chains are broken. This is our sentence!”
• “These hours of silence before him are like a hammer striking our heads. We cannot resist it!”
• “When they look at him, they say nothing, but he works in their hearts. It destroys us from within!”
• “Silence before him is more powerful than a thousand words. It fills them with grace and makes them invincible!”
• “Every moment of adoration of the souls in purgatory frees them. These acts are like swords that cut our chains!”
• “The souls he frees take the earth from us and we cannot get it back!”
• “When they offer honor to the dead, we lose and they gain His light. It is unbearable!”
• “Stop honoring the satisfactions! Every act before Him destroys what we have built with such great effort.”
• “When they make satisfaction for blasphemies and sacrileges, they weaken us more than they can imagine.”
• “The reparative cult is poison for us. It is as if they were destroying everything we do in their souls!”
• “Those who spend time before Him are protected! It is as if they have built a fire barrier around themselves. We cannot reach them easily!”
• “Every time one of you looks at him with faith, we receive a punishment that hurts us more than a thousand chains.”
• “When someone worships him with all their heart, he takes what is ours. Every time it humiliates us!”
• “These prayers before the Blessed Sacrament for sinners are our downfall. They will accept his mercy and do penance, and this will destroy our traps!”
• “When you pray for the lost before him, he shows you his love and breaks our chains. This is a disaster for us!”
• “Venerating sinners makes us powerless before them. He covers them with his blood and we can no longer touch them!”
• “It burns us, it burns us! “This light that radiates from the Blessed Sacrament is like a fire that never goes out.”
• “He lives there and we cannot bear him. His gaze destroys us.”
• “Every consecrated host is a torment for us. He is present and we cannot approach Him!”
• “The souls who dedicate themselves to Adoration are like swords that pierce us. We cannot defeat them!”
• “These small groups that honor Him are more powerful than our entire armies.”
• “One hour with Him is worth more than thousands of prayers that do not take into account His presence.”
• “Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is like rain that extinguishes the fires that we have lit in the world.”
• “These acts of worship bring peace to the earth.

7 Lessons from Whitewater Rafting

7 Life Lessons from Whitewater Rafting
(or How to Remain at Peace When You’re Afraid)

by Kitty Cleveland

Years ago I joined some friends in a thrilling whitewater rafting excursion down the frigid Snake River in Jackson Hole, WY. I had rafted down the Nantahala River in North Carolina many times in the past (once getting trapped under the raft), and I’d even rafted this river before in a large raft. But this time was different.

This time I ended up being assigned the front of a little two-person duckie with a wisp of a woman steering in back. Seriously, I easily had about six inches and 60 pounds on her. I hollered out to our fearless leader on the big, safe raft next to us, "Shouldn't I be in the back of this thing?" She assured me that my strength would be needed to power through the danger up ahead. That's when I started praying. Lesson 1: ALWAYS ACKNOWLEDGE GOD FIRST.
